Hello and welcome to Pic-Time!
This will give you a quick guide and walkthrough of Pic-Time to not only get your account up and running but also introduce you to some of the features of the site that will help elevate your business and your clients’ experience.
After this article, you can check out part 2 and 3:
You can access this guide and any Help article from your photographer dashboard by clicking on the question mark icon in the lower lefthand corner. Or feel free to reach out to our Support Team by clicking on the help bubble on the lower righthand corner. Almost everyone on the team is also a photographer, and we’re always happy to help!
~ 1 Min Setup: Add Profile Info
1. Go to Settings from your Main Dashboard.
2. In the Profile tab, add your basic information like business name, address, phone number, and timezone.
3. You can also change your password, and we strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication for extra security.
~ 1 Min Setup: Add Billing Info
4. In the Plans & Billing tab you can add or update your payment method which will be used for subscription charges and order costs when applicable. You can also view your current subscription status. In addition, this is where you will need to add a valid Tax Number or SSN/EIN in order to accept and receive payments from orders.
~ 2 Min Setup: Customize your Brand & Style
5. In the Brand & Style tab, you can customize your brand by adding your logo, website, social media links, and watermark. These will be displayed in various places throughout the site and client emails for cohesive branding.
Advanced Setup: Add your own custom domain and upload a print release.
~ 3 Min Setup: Set Store Pricing
6. Go to the Store Pricing tab. Store pricing allows you to have full control over your store prices and the products you offer. For a quick store setup, use Pic-Time’s premade pricing presets.
Advanced Setup: Create more than one price list so you can offer products and prices based on location or type of shoot, offer custom products, or create Product Packages to curate products for your clients, making purchase decisions easier. You can also sell digital downloads for print licensing, social media, etc.
~ 1 Min Setup: Set Store Settings
7. In the Store Settings tab, under Payments, click Setup to add your Paypal email to begin accepting payments.
8. Set a hold on orders so you can review before they are sent to production.
While an order is on hold, you can adjust the cropping of the images and make sure the correct images were selected for the order. After the hold period is up, the order is automatically sent to production. We recommend 3 days, so you have time to check the order if need be without adding too many estimated days to your client’s delivery. This will give your clients the best customer support experience they won’t receive from a 3rd party. After you finish reviewing an order on hold, you can approve the order and it will be sent to production.
Advanced Setup: Accept payments yourself to sell in a currency other than USD, offer self fulfilled or custom products, issue direct refunds to your clients, and more.
Set your support preferences to be proactive for any order refunds. We recommend the Moderate option, as it will provide less wait time for your clients as well as less work for you.
~ 5 Min Setup: Create Gallery Template
9. In Preferences, create your Gallery Templates in order to save your gallery settings and re-use them for future galleries to save you time, such as automatic scenes for Wedding galleries, specific download permission settings, and more.
Advanced Setup: Automatically enlarge photos and mark photos as favorites based on rating metadata.
Gallery Migration
10. If you’d like to migrate your galleries to Pic-Time from another service, check out Pic-Time’s gallery migration guide and begin walking through the step-by-step guide.
After your gallery migration is complete, use the Gallery Migration App to invite your clients to their new Pic-Time gallery, either with a store sale to gather excitement, or as a standalone announcement letting them know of their new gallery.
Now that your account is set up, you can create and send your first client gallery!
