In the Client Galleries, you can mark your gallery as Public or Private for greater security over who can view the gallery.

In this tutorial, we will go over the difference between a private and public gallery and how to give access to the gallery. Learn more about user login access, password creation, and management here.

Private vs Public Galleries

Begin from your specific client gallery, go to the Gallery Setup tab and checkmark Private Gallery.

undefined

When the gallery is marked as private, only those people that you as the photographer, or the Main Client invites will be able to access the gallery. You can invite people via email or a direct secure link. When the gallery is private you can also utilize the access code feature if you want a general password for the gallery.

undefined

If you display your private gallery on your portfolio page, only people who have already been invited and have created an account, or who have an access code will be able to view the gallery.

undefined

When the gallery is marked as public, only people with the gallery link or an email invite will be able to view the gallery. If you display the gallery on your portfolio page, anyone who views your portfolio page will be able to enter the gallery. (Alternatively, you can select publicly viewable Sneak Peek images in a private gallery for your portfolio page.)

undefined

We suggest requesting emails under the Gallery Setup tab so that you can still see who enters the gallery. You can also enable this option for private galleries to gather everyone’s email address whether or not they make an account after viewing the gallery.

undefined

Sharing the Gallery

Whether or not the gallery is private, inviting users to the gallery, and users creating their accounts is the same process. You can learn more about users creating accounts here.

You can invite users through any of the options on the gallery's Share tab.

undefined

The secure link contains a cookie that will give the person access to the gallery, and when they create an account, they will be registered as that particular user type. For example, if someone with the Photographer Invited link creates an account, their account will be marked as a Photographer Invited account.

The Main Clients Invited via email or Send by Myself and Photographer Invited users invited via email will create their password when they first view their first Pic-Time Gallery.

undefined

Photographer Invited users with a direct link and Guests will be asked to create an account if they mark photos as favorites, download, attempt to save products or place an order.

undefined

You can disable this option under your Settings > Preferences.

undefined

If any user already has an account, depending on their browser settings they may be asked to log back in. Since each user has their own particular account, they will be able to save their favorites and product designs, view past orders, and access all their galleries through one login.
