Pic-Time offers multiple ways to deliver digital download products to your clients.
There are three methods:

  1. Tiered Pricing

This option is best if you want to use the default products in the store, and incentivise sales by offering discounts if they purchase more. Click here to learn more about Tiered Pricing.

  2. Product Packages

This option is best if you want to create products that combine digital and print products. Click here to lean more about Product Packages.

  3. Custom Products

This option is best for a simple digital download package that does not contain print products. Each Custom Product can contain a specific number of digital files, or all digital files, for a set price. You can create multiple Custom Products at different price points. Photo Selection (or not?)

The next settings will depend on what you want to include in your Custom Product. Please select your preference to jump to the relevant section.

Sell All Photos / Full Gallery

If you want to sell a Custom Product that includes all photos, do not checkmark the This product requires photo selection.

undefined

Leaving the photo selection checkbox unchecked means all files that the user has access to will be included in the digital product. Now that you have that set up, you can setup automatic delivery of the files to your client after purchasing. Click here to jump to the section on Automated File Delivery.

Sell a specific amount of photos

If you want to sell a Custom Product that includes a specific number of photos (For example, a package of 10 photos, a package of 20 photos, etc) you can set up multiple Custom Products with different inclusions, and sell them at different price points.

To set up the first Custom Product, first check the box This product requires photo selection. From the drop-down menu, select Specific Amount and input your amount value. In the below example, we are setting up a Custom Product that includes 10 digital downloads.

After setting up the photo selection, click here to jump to the section on Automated File Delivery to finish setting up the Custom Product. Repeat the steps above if you want to set up multiple Custom Products with different inclusions.

Sell an individual photo

If you want to sell individual photos in your Custom Product, control the selection by check-marking This product requires photo selection. From the drop-down menu select Any Amount. This will allow visitors to your store to select any number of photos in the Custom Product. Soon when you set your pricing, you can indicate a price per photo selected.

You will see two boxes to input price. The top box is the base price for the product. If a user purchases this product, they will be charged this price.

In addition, you can also charge an each photo price. If you want to charge a price for each photo selected, input the price per photo into the bottom box.

Pro Tip: If both boxes are filled, the customer will be charged both the base price and the each photo price. If you want to charge a base price or each photo price, make sure you leave one of the boxes empty.

Some common pricing scenarios for Digital Custom Products

Selling Individual Photo Downloads

For individual photo downloads, typically you will want to have a price per each photo only, and no base price.

For this setup, you will leave the base price at $0, and price Each photo.

undefined

Pro Tip: If you are selling individual digital downloads, you may consider using our tiered pricing feature instead.

Selling All Photos or a Selection of Photos

For Custom Products that contain multiple photos, you will want to set a base price only. This base price should cover all photos that are included in the product (For example, if the Custom Product includes 10 photos the price should be for 10 photos). This will mean the client is not charged per each photo they select.

They will not be able to choose any more photos than the specific amount in your setup.

undefined

Selling Untouched and Retouched Photos

You can offer all retouched or non-retouched photos under the same product. Remember that the categories will have the same product info and settings, so be sure that the description and settings are applicable for all categories. In the case of Retouched Photos, we recommend putting a Hold on the order so you can retouch the images before they are delivered to the ordering client.
