There are three ways to sell Download Packages in your gallery Shop:
Create a Product Package
Best if you want to combine digital (including photos, Featured Videos, and Slideshows) and print products in one package, but you can also choose to only include the Photo Download products.
Create a Custom Digital Download Product (this article!)
Ideal for a simple photo digital download package that doesn’t include print products. Each Custom Product can contain a specific number of digital files or all digital files for a set price. You can create multiple Custom Products at different price points.
Follow the steps below to create a Custom Product to sell digital downloads.
1. Add a Custom Product to your Shop
From the Main Dashboard, go to Settings.
In the Store Pricing tab, create a new Price List or select a Price List to edit.
Then, click on + Custom Product / Package.
Select Custom Product, enter the Product Name, and click Continue.
2. Add the Details
Enter the following details for your Custom Product:
Product Name & Storefront Subtitle
Store Category
Description
Production Time
Product Photos
3. Mark it as Delivered Digitally
Check This product is delivered digitally to:
Omit shipping charges at checkout
Ensure taxes are calculated correctly for digital files
4. Choose Photo Selection Options
Choose settings based on what you want to sell in your Custom Product:
Sell All Photos / Full Gallery
Leave This product requires photo selection unchecked. All accessible files will be included in the digital product.
You can then set up Automated File Delivery.
Sell a Specific Amount of Photos
Check This product requires photo selection. Then, from the drop-down, select Specific Amount and enter the number of photos (e.g., a package of 10 or 20).
You can then set up Automated File Delivery.
Repeat these steps to create multiple Custom Products with different quantities and price points if needed.
Sell Individual Photos
Check This product requires photo selection.
From the drop-down select Any Amount to let clients choose any number of photos. When setting prices, you can set a price per photo.
5. Automate the File Delivery
For your JPEGs to be sent automatically to the client:
Check Send Files Automatically and Send photos to the ordering client.
Add a custom message to include with the delivery.
Please Note: If you leave this option unchecked, you will need to manually send the files to your client, which you can do directly from their order page.
After placing their order, the client will receive an email with a link to download the files. The download folder is structured in the same way as gallery downloads (organized by scene, sub-folders, & contains print release).
6. Set up Pricing
After clicking Apply, you can set up prices.
You’ll see two boxes in the Price column:
Base Price (top box): The fixed price for the product. Clients will be charged this amount when purchasing the product.
Each Photo Price (bottom box): Optional. Set a price per photo if you want to charge for individual selections.
Pro Tip: If both boxes are filled, clients will be charged both the base price and the per-photo price. To charge only one, leave the other box empty.
Once your prices are set, click Apply to complete your Custom Product. For additional guidance on pricing, continue reading below.
Common Pricing Scenarios
Individual Photo Downloads
Leave base price at 0, and set price per photo. Consider using Volume or Tiered Pricing for multiple selections.
All Photos / Multiple Photo Selections
Set a base price for all photos included in the Package. Leave the other box at 0. This ensures clients will be charged for the entire package, not individual images, and will not be able to select more than your set quantity.
Retouched vs Non-Retouched Photos
You can offer both retouched and non-retouched photos under the same product.
Please Note: Both product options will have the same Product Info, so be sure that the description and settings are appropriate for both.
Pro Tip: For retouched photos, we recommend putting a Hold on the order, giving you time to edit the images before they are delivered to your clients.
