Clients or gallery guests who opt out of marketing emails may encounter challenges in accessing promotions. Alternative approaches can be taken to ensure your clients continue to benefit from discounts. This article will guide you through how to give discounts to those who have opted out of marketing emails.

Create Single-Use Coupon app

The Single-Use Coupon app emails can be set as either marketing or simply informational, allowing you to still support any of your clients with a discount even if they've unsubscribed from marketing emails. You can simply create a campaign for the specific client and choose to include Opt-Out Recipients when you assign the app, ensuring that emails reach users who may have opted out of marketing communications. This is our general recommendation. Learn more about the Single-Use Coupon app here.

Request User to Update Settings

Another method to consider is to request the client to update their marketing email settings.

1. Begin by having your client log into their client account and select the person icon from their gallery menu. Then click on Settings.

2. The checkbox I would like to receive special offers and updates must be ticked. Once they Save Changes, you can now start offering discounts to your client.

Assign by Criteria

You can still use the Assign by Criteria option when assigning the app to enable the discount for everyone with the same user type.

Please Note: Not all apps include the Assign by Criteria option. We generally recommend the General Coupon app for this reason.

1. To get started, click Sales and Automation from the Main Dashboard.

2. From the Campaigns tab, either create a new app, or duplicate an existing app.

Edit App

Discount

4. Edit the Discount by clicking the pencil icon.

4. Choose the Discount Type and Coupon code that you wish to offer your clients and select Apply.

Remove Emails and Banners

5. In the case of a client who has opted out of marketing emails, delete all emails and banners by hovering and clicking the trashcan icon.

Please Note: You should remove emails and banners from free product discounts (and other similar discounts) and assign on a case-by-case basis, since the code cannot be tied to an individual recipient who has opted out of emails. To understand the different discount types, read more here.

6. Once you’ve completed customizing your promotional offer, select Done Editing.

Assign to Galleries

7. You can assign the discount to your client's gallery by clicking Assign to Galleries.

8. Click the pencil icon under the Projects section to choose the gallery associated with your client.

9. Then click the pencil icon under the Recipients section to assign by criteria.

10. The Select Audience by Criteria section allows you to select your client's User Types by clicking the drop-down menu. Choose the user type you’d like to provide the discount to and select Continue.

11. After clicking Apply, you can now provide your client with their personalized code for the discount, by either telling them, or emailing them manually.

12. Once the client’s order is placed, you can unassign the app. To learn more about unassigning apps and other marketing app functions, read more here.
