When sending a coupon to your client, you can adjust the discount type and amount. The coupon offers discounts such as a percentage, monetary credit, free product, cost price, and free shipping. You can also limit the coupon to be applicable to certain products. This article breaks down each discount type and how it can be used by your client.

Types of Discounts
% Off
Set-up the discount amount and the description (will be displayed in the client’s cart).
The % will be taken off the whole order unless it’s limited for specific products. If you select for the code to be used more than once, then the client will be able to use the code on multiple orders.
$ Off
The dollar-off coupon can be used as a credit/discount amount. The code can be used on multiple orders until the credit amount is reached. When a client uses this discount during check-out, the $ Off amount is taken off first and the tax is calculated off the remaining amount. If you like, you can also have the discount apply to the shipping fee.
Please Note: You will be charged the difference if this price is lower than the cost price. For example, if a client has a $50 print credit, and they purchase a product with a $50 production cost, you would be charged $0. However, if they purchase a product with a $75 production cost, you would be charged $15.
$ Off (including tax)
The dollar off coupon is used as a credit/discount amount. When a client uses this discount during check-out, the tax is calculated first and then the $ Off amount is taken off. Use this option if you want the client to use their credit towards the sales tax as well as the product.
Free Product
The free product discount requires product selection. Click Select products to choose which products you want to offer the client for free.
Please Note: After the client places their order, you will be charged the production cost of the product when selecting this option.
If you select more than one item (including multiple types of one item), the client can still order only one free product, unless you specify the number of times a client can use the code. For example, if you specify the client can select from 3 specific products but keep the number of times they can use the code to 1, then the client can only purchase 1 of the specific products. If you specify the client can use the code 3 times, they can get 3 free items from the product you selected.
For products with max pages/prints, this will apply to the overall product and not individual pages/prints.
Examples:
If you offer a complimentary wedding album, and would like your client to choose their album type and/or size, you would limit the products to all their album options, and set the number of times each user can use this code to "1". If the client adds more pages, they will simply pay for the additions.
If you want your client to receive 3 5x7 prints and 1 8x10 print, you would limit the products to 5x7 (3) and 8x10 (1), and set the number of times each user can use this code to "2", so that they can select both products.
If you want your client to receive 3 5x7 prints or 1 8x10 print, you would limit the products to 5x7 (3) and 8x10 (1), and set the number of times each user can use this code to "1", so that they can select only one of the product options.
Cost Price
The cost price coupon allows the client to purchase items at the production cost price. The set-up for the discount does not require product selection. It can be applied to all products, or you can limit the products to specific ones. If multiple or all products are selected, then the client will be able to order any number of the selected items at cost price.
Free Shipping
Free shipping discount will give your client free ground shipping for their order. If your client chooses to upgrade the shipping, they will need to pay the full upgraded price. If you choose that the client is able to use the code more than once, then they will be able to use the code for multiple orders.
The client will see the description of the coupon in their cart, so it’s recommended that you note in the description that the coupon is for Ground/Economy shipping.
You may want to enable free shipping for all orders over a certain amount, in which case you can use the Minimum Order requirement.
If you would like to give your client a shipping credit, you can use the $ Off discount and select for the dollar amount to be applied to the product and shipping.
Please Note: When offering Free Shipping to your clients, you will then be charged the shipping costs from the lab.
Limiting Products
1. You can choose to limit the coupon code to only apply to certain products by check marking Limit to specific products.
2. Select if you want to include the selected products, or exclude the selected products.
3. Then checkmark which products you want to include/exclude from the discount. You can check specific products, or click the product category to select all products within that category. Then click Apply.
Stackable Coupons
Coupon codes can be stacked. When a client tries to use multiple non-stackable coupons, the system will automatically select the better coupon offer for the product (highest monetary amount). The discount amount is always calculated from the order's total price (before the discount).
Stackable coupons can be added on top of a non-stackable coupon. The discount amount is calculated from the original total price (before ANY discount).
