In the galleries, there are three available settings you can choose to request visitor consent for marketing emails.
When a visitor first enters the gallery or creates an account, they will have the option to checkmark to receive or not receive Sales Automation emails for discounts in the gallery.
Generally the discount is still available for the client (specific settings apply). However, they won't receive marketing emails regarding the discount.
Change Consent Request
1. To begin, go to Settings from the Main Dashboard.
2. Under the Brand & Style tab, select the Opt In/Out Policy for New Visitors dropdown.
There are three available consent settings that you can apply.
Opt-Out
When new visitors sign up to the gallery, they will have the “Receive updates and discounts about this gallery” checkbox ticked by default. This is the default mode in Pic-Time.
The below screenshot shows how this would appear for a new visitor.
Opt-In
When new visitors sign up to the gallery, they will have the “Receive updates and discounts about this gallery” checkbox unticked by default. The visitor will need to checkmark the box in order to receive store discount campaign emails.
Please Note: Some countries require marketing to be Opt-In. Please check with your local governing body which policy applies to you.
The below screenshot shows how the checkbox appears unchecked by default with this option.
Hide the Opt-in/Out Checkbox
Visitors will not see any checkbox when signing up to the gallery and they will be automatically signed up to receive marketing emails related to the gallery. They can still opt-out of emails under their account settings.
Please note: if you have EU customers, you should NOT check this box in order to remain compliant with the GDPR regulations.
The below screenshot shows the checkbox removed for new visitors, so they cannot opt out/in.
Opt-In/Out when Guests are not required to leave their email address
The above screenshots show the guest view for visitors entering the gallery for the first time if you require guests to leave their email before entering the gallery.
If you do not require guests to leave their emails and do not hide the checkbox, they can opt in/out of receiving the marketing emails when they are asked to create an account (eg, for store purchases or marking favorite photos).
Regardless of whether you have the checkbox hidden or not, the client will always be able to opt back in or out of marketing emails under their account settings.
