Export Settings
File Renaming (Preset) and File Size
1. To update the file names and file size of the photos, double-click on the Pic-Time Publishing Manager and under Pic-Time File Naming, checkmark Rename To and choose one of the file naming preset templates from the drop-down menu.
2. If you would like to create your own file naming preset, click Preset Editor.
3. You may need to click New to create a new preset.
4. Select the data you would like to insert in the file name, its position, and click Insert.
Please Note: If creating your own preset, you will want to include some information that is unique to each specific photograph, such as a Sequence# or CaptureDateTime.
In addition, you do NOT want to have a preset with any static text that relates to a specific gallery, because then you would need to manually update it before every export of a new gallery.
5. Now save your preset by clicking Save Preset.
6. Type the name for your preset and click Save. Then Close out of the Preset Editor.
Save Backup Copy to Computer
7. You can also save the files to your computer when you export to Pic-Time. Under Pic-Time Export Backup Copy, check Export Copy to and click Choose to select the folder on your computer.
Now copies of the photos will be exported to your computer for backup purposes. The export folder will contain the gallery name, scene names, and the exact structure that was exported to Pic-Time.
File Settings, Image Sizing, and Metadata
8. Generally, you will want to set your File Settings > Quality to "100", and the Image Sizing > Resolution to "300 pixels per inch", as this is perfect for printing. However, any cropping that you have done to the file may affect the print size. Learn more about preparing files for upload here.
Then decide what Metadata you'd like to include, and click Save to save your changes.
How can I rename images after I publish them?
Once a gallery image is published, its filename cannot be changed (even when republishing). That’s because the system identifies images by their filename so if you want to override an image (i.e., edit it) it has to be with the previous filename.
However, if you want to change the filenames of images after publishing, the best workflow is:
1. In Lightroom, Right mouse click on the scene and select Edit Scene...
2. Change the scene name to something like "SceneName-old" so you can identify it later, then click Edit.
3. Then right mouse click on the gallery, and select Edit Gallery...
4. Create the new scene for the updated images. Name the scene, and click Edit.
5. Then drag the images from the old scene to the corresponding new scene (from sceneX-old to sceneX), and click Publish.
6. Then you can right-click on the old scene to delete it. Or in Pic-Time, you can hide the scene from all guests.
