Easily connect your Google Analytics account to your Pic-Time account to track visitors, active users, visited pages, product clicks, popular products, order value, and more.
There are three setup options depending on what you’ve previously set up:
If you’ve never set up Google Analytics before, click here.
If you have Google Analytics set up but have not connected Pic-Time, click here.
If you already have an older version of Google Analytics set up (known as Universal Analytics) and have previously connected Pic-Time, click here.
Please Note: If you already have an older version of Google Analytics (known as Universal Analytics) account, you will want to update the ID in your Pic-Time account. Learn more here.
Set up a New Google Analytics Account
1. Go to Google Analytics, make sure you’re logged into your preferred Google account, and click Start Measuring. If you’ve already set up a Google Analytics account for your photography website but not for Pic-Time, click here for instructions on adding a new property.
2. Add your Account name, for example, your photography business name, and checkmark any data-sharing options you’d like to enable. Then click Next.
3. Then follow the steps here to create a new Property.
Connect Pic-Time to Existing Google Analytics Account
To connect Pic-Time to your existing Google Analytics Account, click on the gear icon in the lower lefthand corner, and click + Create Property. If you’ve never created a Google Analytics Account, you can skip to Create New Property.
Create New Property
1. Add a Property name. We suggest “Pic-Time”. Then set your Reporting time zone and Currency. Click Next.
2. Add an Industry category. We suggest Arts & Entertainment. Then select your Business size. Click Next.
3. Choose any business objectives you have. We suggest checkmarking Drive online sales and Examine user behavior, and click Create.
4. Select Web as your platform.
5. Add your Pic-Time URL and under the Stream name add “Pic-Time”. Leave the Enhanced measurement enabled and click Create stream.
6. You’ll be asked to install your Google tag, but you don’t need to add it to Pic-Time. It will be added automatically for you when you connect your Measurement ID in Pic-Time. Click the X in the top left corner to skip this step.
7. In the Stream details panel, click the Copy icon underneath your Measurement ID. This is what you will paste into your Pic-Time account.
8. Then paste the Measurement ID into Pic-Time following the steps here.
Reconnect Pic-Time with an Existing Google Analytics Account
If you already have an older version of Google Analytics set up (known as Universal Analytics) and have previously connected Pic-Time, you will want to replace the old Tracking ID (UA-xxxxxxxxx-x) with the new Google Analytics 4 Measurement ID (G-xxxxxxxxxx).
Please Note: If you already had Pic-Time connected, Google automatically created a new Property with a Measurement ID. Learn more here.
To see your new GA4 property and copy the Measurement ID:
1. Click on the gear icon in the lower lefthand corner to open the Admin Panel.
2. You will see all the Properties you’ve created in your account. Locate your Pic-Time Property. It will be named whatever you titled it when you created the property. If you do not see a Pic-Time property, follow the steps here to create a new one. Then click Data Streams.
3. Select your Pic-Time Data Stream.
4. Click the Copy icon to copy your Measurement ID.
5. Then follow the steps below to paste the new Measurement ID into Pic-Time.
Add Measurement ID to Pic-Time
1. After you’ve copied your Measurement ID, in Pic-Time from your Main Dashboard, go to Settings.
2. In the Brand & Style tab, click Site External Services. Make sure to select the brand you want to track your analytics for if you have more than one brand.
3. Paste your Measurement ID under Google Analytics 4 and click Apply.
Please Note: It may take up to 48 hours for your analytics to populate into Google Analytics 4.
