When you self-fulfill products in your Pic-Time Shop, you can set your own shipping rates for each type of product. Since you are handling the shipping outside of Pic-Time, make sure to set rates that cover your costs.
You can create different Shipping Tiers (for example, local vs. international) and assign them to your self-fulfilled products following the steps below.
Pro Tip: If you’d like to offer free shipping, you can create a Free Shipping discount or set up automatic Free Shipping for certain methods. Learn more here.
Setting Self-Fulfill Shipping Rates
1. From your Main Dashboard, click Settings.
2. In the Store Settings tab, click Setup under Self Fulfill Shipping.
Shipping Tiers and Methods
3. First, name your Shipping Tier package and add different rates for each shipping method, allowing clients to select their preferred options.
Pro Tip: If you have multiple tiers, use clear names so you can easily assign them to different products or Price Lists in your Shop.
4. To create an additional Shipping Tier package, click Add Shipping Tier.
5. By default, each Shipping Tier package will automatically generate four shipping rate options: Non-Trackable, Economy, Expedited or Rush Delivery. You can adjust these as you wish.
Click + Add shipping method to add another option, or click the x icon to delete one.
6. When adding another Shipping Method, you can choose to add a local or an international option.
To add a local shipping method, choose whether you want to add a Non-Trackable, Economy, Expedited, or Rush delivery option.
To add an international shipping method, choose a country for international shipping.
Shipping Tiers and Methods
7. Set your prices for all the Shipping Tiers and Methods you want to offer.
Per Order: this is the shipping price that would be charged to your client each time they place their order.
Each Unit: this price will be charged to your client for each item and variant within their cart. (e.g., 300 prints = 300 items).
Please Note: To avoid high shipping costs on bulk items, we recommend using Per Order pricing for products often purchased in large quantities, or creating a specific Shipping Tier for those products.
8. You can assign different Shipping Tiers to different self-fulfilled products. For example, you might assign one tier to albums and another to prints. If a client orders both and selects Rush Delivery, the Rush rate from each tier will apply. To avoid charging both, you can enable Charge only the highest per order price, which ensures only the highest shipping rate is applied when multiple products are in the cart.
9. When you are ready to save your shipping information, click Apply.
Assigning Shipping Tiers to Products
Once you have created your Shipping Tiers, you can assign them to your products.
1. Go to the Store Pricing tab, select a Price List you wish to edit.
2. Find your product. Hover over it and click Edit Price.
3. Set the fulfillment option to Self Fulfill and choose a Shipping Tier from the dropdown menu.
4. If you need to modify the Shipping Tiers again, click on the pencil icon. Once you are ready to save your changes, click Apply.
Client View
At checkout, your client will enter their shipping address and will be able to select from the methods available in the tier you assigned.
Local shipping methods (Economy, Expedited, Rush) are always displayed by default. If a client selects a method you haven’t enabled, they’ll see a notification and be switched to the next available option.
If a client enters an international address you do not offer to ship to, they will see the error message: No shipping is available to this address.
