When adding a watermark to your Client Galleries, you have the option to enable a Flexible Watermark or a Burned Watermark.

Flexible Watermark

What is it?

A Flexible Watermark is applied dynamically on top of low-resolution images.

You can choose to display it in the Client Gallery, previews of products in the Shop, Shared Photos, and Free Web-Sized Downloads.

We recommend this option for most photographers.

Pros:

  • Can adjust or remove the watermark style.

  • Can control where it appears, including specific Scenes and for specific gallery guests.

Cons:

  • Less permanent protection against unauthorized low-res downloads.

Burned Watermark

What is it?

A Burned Watermark is permanently embedded into the low-resolution images displayed in the Client Gallery and the preview of products in the Shop, Shared Photos, and on Free Web-Sized Downloads.

Pros:

  • Guarantees that no unwatermarked images are shown to clients when browsing the Gallery and Shop.

  • Stronger protection against unauthorized low-res downloads.

Cons:

  • Cannot be removed after upload.

  • If you decide to no longer display a burned watermark on a previously uploaded gallery, you will need to change the watermark settings and re-upload the images into the gallery.

Other things to note about the Burned Watermark:

  • If you have multiple brands, the uploader will burn the watermark based on the brand you have selected in the gallery's Name & Cover tab during the time of upload.

  • Only photos uploaded while Burned Watermark is enabled will have the watermark applied.

  • When you change your settings to Burned watermark, any previous galleries that had the Flexible watermark or no watermark will no longer have a watermark. Since the Burned Watermark is added during upload, you will need to re-upload images to the gallery.

Burned Watermark Setup

1. From the Main Dashboard, go to Settings.

2. Go to the Brand & Style tab and upload your watermark.

3. From the dropdown menu, select Burned Watermark.

Please Note: When the Burned Watermark is selected in your gallery, you cannot edit watermark settings in the Gallery Setup tab, such as enabling or removing the watermark for specific user types or scenes. The watermark will be permanently displayed for all user types in all scenes.

Gallery Setup

In the Name & Cover tab of a newly created gallery, select the watermark.

The watermark will be burned into the images during upload and cannot be edited.
