In this tutorial we will show you how you can set up your shop to sell individual images at a price-per-photo and the full gallery at a fixed price.
Alternatively, you can sell download packages through these methods:
Packages with Tiered Pricing (best for multiple price tiers)
Sell Packages via a Custom Product (best for a simple flat-rate gallery price)
Pic-Time Product Packages (best for packages that also contain prints or multiple product types)
Enable Photo Downloads & Tiered Pricing
1. First, go to Settings from your Main Dashboard.
2. Then go to Store Pricing, hover over the Photo Downloads product in the store and click Edit Price.
3. Checkmark to enable Tiered pricing, and then click Edit Tiered Pricing.
Set the price of each individual photo
Each tier represents a different rule for your pricing. The tiers are applied from first to last.
We will explain how the tiers are applied in the example below.
4. Set the price for your first download, and the same price for Each additional photo.
In the example above,
1 copy = $20
2 copies = $40
3 copies = $60 etc.
This rule will be applied for any number of copies up until the next tier.
In this example, there is another tier that comes into effect when the client selects 10 or more copies. If the client selects 10 or more copies, the first tier is ignored and the second tier is applied.
Set the price for the remainder of the gallery
5. Set the number of downloads and price for a Full Gallery Download, with Each additional photo set to $0.
In the tier highlighted above, if the client selects 10 copies they will be charged $200. Any additional copies above 10 will be charged at $200 plus $0 each.
With this rule:
10 copies = $200
11 copies = $200
12 copies = $200
2800 copies = $200
By adding the $0 to the "each additional photo" field you are setting a price limit on the full gallery download and allowing your clients to download any additional photos at no extra cost.
Pro Tip: When adding a new tier, we will automatically calculate the price of that tier based on the items and amounts in previous tiers. We recommend either using this price or using something slightly lower, to provide an incentive for purchasing more items.
What it looks like for the client
On the client’s side, the system will choose the relevant tier to be applied based on the number of copies the client selects.
The above Tiered Pricing will be displayed in the store for the client like this:
Please Note: If you want to give your client a set number of free downloads you can set this up by adjusting the download permissions or offering a coupon. We do not recommend setting up free downloads through Tiered Pricing because clients will be able to place multiple orders for the free download tier, and there would be no limit.
