Some of the labs we work with issue their own invoices. In this case, the invoice carries the lab's name and includes sales taxes which are automatically charged by the lab. Read below to learn more!

Who does this apply to?

Currently, this will affect photographers who are self-collecting their payments and using the following lab: GTA Imaging, SIM Imaging, Folio Albums and Digitalab. More labs will be added to this article on a rolling basis.

Do the store production costs include taxes?

In your Store Pricing, the production costs from the lab do not include sale taxes or VAT. This is because the type of sales tax is based on the delivery address and can only be determined when the client is placing the order.

Where can I see the cost and tax charged on orders?

You can easily see the production cost and sales tax that was charged, both in the specific order under Sales & Automations > Orders, or directly in the production cost invoices in your Billing History.

If the order has labs from multiple locations with different tax requirements, you’ll see these as separate charges from each lab.

Should I adjust my pricing?

If you are not charging sales taxes from your clients, you may need to adjust your prices to accommodate this change. In addition, you can customize your Tax Template in your Store Settings.
