Creating blog posts through your Pic-Time galleries is a powerful storytelling tool for elevating your business. Create a post within minutes as part of your workflow process, create cross promotion with vendors, and draw in prospective clients, all while adding SEO optimization and driving traffic to your website, galleries, and shop.

General

I’m not a wedding or family photographer. How can I use blogs?

Blogs are a powerful tool no matter the photography you create. Use a blog post to create an architectural listing, show off highlights of the sporting event with a link to the full gallery and shop, or promote your photography services.

How is it different from other services that do the same thing?

Because the photos are already uploaded in the gallery, creating blogs will fit right into your workflow with fast auto-creation and blog layouts. You can also create easy alt text, automatically rename filenames, and generate a social media video of your blog.

How do I create a blog in Pic-Time?

Pic-Time allows you to create a blog quickly as part of your gallery creation workflow. In the gallery Photos tab, click to Add Blog, choose a style template, select photos, and an automatic design is created. Then you can drag and drop to arrange the photos and add your text, so in a few minutes your blog post is ready. Learn more here.

What’s an easy way to select photos for the blog post?

Use the Photos Filter to select photos you've highlighted with 5 stars (for example) in Lightroom, select other people’s favorites lists, or select certain scenes like the Highlights scene.

Editing and Customizing

What can be included in a blog post?

Besides photos, you can also include GIFs, slideshows, and embedded videos in your blog posts, as well as a button to the gallery, and links to vendors and other websites.

What should I do if my website adds its own title to my blog?

You can delete the title block in your Pic-Time blog to avoid having two titles, or find another page template in your website which does not force you to add a title.

How can I make my blog post take the whole width on my website?

On your website, make sure you set the embedded code block to have 100% width. Learn more here.

Can I edit the mobile view?

After designing the desktop version of your blog, you can edit the font size and borders specifically for the mobile design only.

SEO

Are Pic-Time blogs SEO friendly?

Yes, the blogs editor allows adding the SEO description and Alt text. Image files can be renamed for better SEO (simply click the Auto rename files button after adding your image descriptions), and the blog itself is optimized for fast loading. It also has the required tags and site map in the HTML code.

Can I add Alt Text to images?

Yes! Click Share & SEO. When you add SEO text, there will be an option to add alt text to the images. Learn more here.

Should I put an SEO description in both the Pic-Time blog and my website’s SEO section?

Yes, it is recommended to add both.

Photos and Storage

Will I be able to put a watermark on the blog post images?

When you use burned watermarks, it will apply on the blog photos as well. Otherwise, the watermark will not appear on blog post images.

How do I update a Blog with updated/edited images?

If you update the photos within the Photos tab itself (e.g., upload a new version of the image with the same file name) it will automatically update in the Blog post as well.

Will deleting the gallery also delete the blogs it contains? And will it delete blogs I integrated to my website?

Yes. Do not delete your gallery if you want to keep the blog. You still can make the gallery offline and also delete the gallery photos if you like, and this will not affect the blog post.

Will my blogs be kept if I stop my Pic-Time subscription?

The Free and Beginner plans can purchase the blog retention add-on (in Settings > Plans & Billing), which is only for keeping existing blogs online. If you downgrade from Professional to Beginner/Free, your existing published blogs will show as offline. The retention plan does not allow you to create or edit blogs, only to keep blogs online.
