To ensure that your videos have the highest quality presentation possible, here are our recommended export settings to apply to your videos before uploading them to a Pic-Time gallery. Below you can find a full list of all accepted video file formats.

Recommended Export Settings

When exporting from Adobe Premiere, in general we recommend the YouTube preset as it provides the best balance between quality and file size.

Video Format

MP4: This is the most widely supported and versatile container format. It efficiently stores video and audio data while maintaining high quality and compatibility across different devices and platforms.

Video Extension

.mp4: This extension is preferred as it aligns with the MP4 format, ensuring broad compatibility and efficient compression.

Video Codec

H.264: This codec is highly efficient in compressing video without compromising quality. It is universally supported and ideal for online streaming and storage.

Video Resolution

HD: 1920x1080px (Full HD). This resolution offers a good balance between quality and file size. It is widely supported and looks great on most devices.

4K: If higher quality is needed, 3840x2160px (4K UHD) is recommended, but keep in mind the larger file size.

Video Bit Rate

For HD (1080P) - between 12-16 Mbps

For 4K (2160P) - between 40-48 Mbps

Video Frame Rate

When exporting, always match the video's source frame rate, and never upscale to a faster frame rate, i.e. from 24fps to 60fps. Always export at your source frame rate unless you are more familiar with filming and editing different frame rates.

If your frame rate is lower than 15 FPS: Choose a multiple of your frame rate that is between 15-30 FPS. For example, if your frame rate is 8 FPS, choose 16 FPS.

Audio Sample Rate

48 kHz: AAC. This sample rate is standard for high-quality audio in video files and ensures clear sound.

Channels

Leave as-is, or:

Standard mono

2-channel stereo audio

Surround audio with 5.1 and 7.1 channel layouts

Spatial audio in the first-order and second-order ambisonic format (AmbiX)

Color Format

yuv420p: This color format is commonly used and provides a good balance between quality and file size.
