Effective at 12:01 am (EDT) on August 29, 2025, the de minimis exemption for all international shipments sent to the U.S. is suspended. This means all orders from non-U.S.-based labs shipping into the U.S. are subject to customs processing and may have additional fees.

Please Note: This article will be updated as we receive new information. The details and any fees listed may change, so please check back regularly for updates.

Affected Labs

As a result of this change, some couriers have temporarily suspended shipments to the U.S. Others are continuing shipments, but the courier or U.S. Customs may apply additional fees. See the list below for your lab:

Please note: This list covers labs we currently have details for and will be updated as we learn more. For other non-U.S. labs shipping to the U.S., assume customs duties and fees may apply.

Labs using couriers that are suspending orders going to the U.S. until further notice:

  • Atkins: We are in close contact with Atkins, who are waiting on Australia Post to reinstate shipments to the U.S. Once that happens, we’ll update photographers right away.

Labs using couriers that are continuing orders, but may incur additional duties:

  • Floricolor: Your clients will need to pay a customs fee of approximately 15%, as well as a FedEx fee of 2% of the total order or €4.50, whichever amount is higher. Once the shipment label is created, your client will get an email from FedEx informing them that one shipment is on its way and tariffs must be paid, which they can do via FedEx online or their mobile app.

  • Folio Albums: Orders ship with DHL Express and will incur a 10% import tariff plus a $6 Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) charged by DHL (estimate, subject to confirmation).

Labs continuing orders to the U.S. with no additional fees:

  • Dekora: Only Albums will continue to be shipped to the U.S. Orders will include a CUSMA (Canada–United States–Mexico Agreement) certificate, allowing Canadian-made goods to enter the U.S. duty-free, even after the de minimis threshold is removed. All other product options are suspended until further notice.

  • QT Albums: Products remain duty-free under protected trade categories. You and your clients will not be asked to pay duties, and if a fee is ever applied, QT will cover it. For now, nothing has changed in how QT ships to U.S. customers.

FAQ

Who has to pay the additional duties/taxes/tariffs?

If the order incurs additional duties, the client is responsible for payment before the order enters the U.S. We will update this article with more details as U.S. Customs provides guidance.

Can I switch couriers for the order?

No, the courier is determined by the lab. However, we are working with the labs to resolve any shipping issues as soon as possible.

Do I need to do anything?

No action is required at this time. We are working behind the scenes to ensure a smooth process for you and your clients. Updates will be emailed and posted in this article.
